Necklace Vintage Style

Design of the Week

Surf the wave of nostalgia that’s sweeping fashion. The Vintage Style necklace showcases new Crystal Iridescent Blue pearls with an antique feel. But look more closely and you’ll see that it’s been funked up with Skull crystals, giving it a rebellious edge that stops just short of sweet and innocent.

My Element design contest

Meet the winners

We’re delighted to announce the winners of the fourth international design competition organized by Russian Swarovski Official Distributor sw-strazy.ru in collaboration with Swarovski Create Your Style. Entitled My Element, the contest was inspired by Swarovski’s seasonal collection of crystal innovations Spring/Summer 2017’s The Balance of Nature, a sparkling celebration of earth, air, fire and water. This last element, water, stimulated a special collection called Ocean Mysteries, developed in collaboration with Céline Cousteau, granddaughter of the ocean explorer Jacques Cousteau.

A total of 120 participants from Russia, Austria, Slovenia, Sweden, USA and Belarus created 140 crystallized pieces in three categories: Accessories Design, Knitwear Design, and Jewelry Design. Jewelry Design was further divided into Earrings, Necklace, and Jewelry Set. In addition, a Special Design category featured a winner chosen by specialist jury member Michele Carragher, Principal Embroiderer for the television serial, Game of Thrones.

Finalists were invited to a dazzling evening on November 26, 2016, where they shared creative ideas and made new friends among the Create Your Style design community. Models showed off selected pieces before the announcement of the winners. Congratulations go to Tatiana Poputnikova, whose witty Odyssey of Captain Cousteau won the Necklace category (it was later presented by Swarovski as a gift to Céline Cousteau); Anna Barsukova, whose sinuous sea serpent necklace, Marine Currents, so impressed Michele Carragher; Galina Dietrih, for her winning Smoldering Glimmer earrings; Elena Zavozina whose Underwater design won the Jewelry Set category; Valentina Telpiz for her shell-inspired Sea Treasure clutch; and Svetlana Raeva for her stunning Flowering Meadow knitwear design.

Runners-up include: Julia Ribakova, Oksana Sorokina, Julia Logvinova, Dina Komarova, Irina Abdurahimova, Maria Vukolova, Aishat Alimurzaeva, Dina Komarova, Irina Grushnikova and Maria Antzupova.

Other judges were Ludmila Kecelioglu and Vera Lipilina, Swarovski Marketing Manager and Regional Manager in Russia and the CIS, plus Tatiana Shumilina, Deputy CEO of sw-strazy. They were joined by ambassadors for Swarovski Create Your Style: Guzel Bakeeva, Zoya Chislova, Irina Prysyazhnyuk, Tatiana Olejnik, Julie Jonasch (founder of Selected by Julie) and jewelry designer Maria Tychina.
