Design/Expertise-related information
What technique(s) are you particularly focusing on?
Mostly bead weaving - particularly enjoy right angle weave as well as square stitch, ladder stitch. I've also tried Kumihimo braiding along with wire crochet - but my first choice is right angle weave..
Since when have you already been holding workshops?
Since 2006
What fascinates you about using SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS?
There are no beads that compare with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS. I have tried to substitute with other crystals from other companies when I haven't been able to find a particular color or cut - but the substitute was very noticeable - not nearly the 'sparkle' as SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS.
What is your favorite SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS color?
It's impossible to pick just one however I do use the Jet Black, Montana Blue and Crystal Clear a lot..
What is your favorite SWAROVSKI ELEMENT?
I love working with bicones - such a beautiful cut. I'm also very impressed with the SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS pearls.
What is your favorite design you have ever created with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS? A bracelet made with 6mm bicones and pearls and embellished with 3mm bicones - adapted from a pattern called 'hugs and kisses' - it's right angle weave with embellishment.
Personal information
What are your hobbies?
Mostly bead weaving - primarily bracelets and earrings. I also do cross stitch embroidery and have beaded small designs which can be adapted from cross stitch patterns.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Caring, compassionate, joyful.
What would you definitely take with you on a lonely island?
Lots of beading/cross stitch supplies as well as some good books. (Now if you had asked me "Who" would I take with me on a lonely island - the answer would be quite different).
What is the first thing at the day you usually do?
Read the newspaper.
What is your motto of life?
Treat all people with respect and you will earn that respect back. Respect is not a given - it's earned.
