Origins
Shiney Company was founded in the Summer of 2006 by friends and business partners, Jane Purdy and Amanda Pickstock. Their first bead store located in a trendy ‘Creative Quarter’ in Bristol was created out of their hobby and passion for crafts and jewellery making. Both partners were keen to create a bead store that ‘they would want to shop in’. They offer a large variety of quality beading products coupled with an unrivalled workshop program designed by Jane and Amanda to share you their new creations. The workshops continually evolve to reflect fashion trends and customer requirements. Shiney Company stores are bright, vibrant and bubbling over with lots of new ideas to inspire bead enthusiasts. Jane and Amanda have worked hard to develop a second and larger flagship store in Bath just 1 year later, which is the UK’s first CREATE YOUR STYLE with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS RECOMMENDED STORE.

>Concept
Shiney Company reflects the personalities of Jane and Amanda. They have a passion for fashion and colour (not to mention handbags and shoes) and they love introducing new products and inspiring their customers on how to use them. Thankfully the owners don’t agree on everything so you can be sure to get a diverse range of products as they don’t always like the same beads! Both owners continue to teach classes and have a strong presence in the stores, maintaining customer relationships. They have created an environment where enthusiasts can browse the vast selection and feel comfortable seeking advice or inspiration from any member of the experienced and passionate team. With two devoted beaders at the helm, Shiney Company continually introduces new designs into the workshop program, so loyal followers can always look forward to learning new projects from one of the team.

Product selection
People travel from afar to visit Shiney Company, so we make it our mission to ensure there is a constant feed of new and exciting products to keep people coming back. Our customers are always delighted with vast range of products on offer in-store. We buy our glass beads, shells, freshwater pearls and semi-precious from all over world, ensuring good value for money for high quality beads. It’s important for us to provide all the other accessories to turn those gems into something special and we pride ourselves on our comprehensive range of jewellery findings, in sterling silver, gold, plated, silver plated and other fashionable metals. We cater for the traditional bead-weaver, with a large selection of high quality Japanese seed beads and threads and the wire workers get excited by our large selection of wires in all sizes and colours. Oh and we also stock more tools, gadgets and gizmos than you can imagine. Not to forget bead magazines, ribbons, cords, polymer clay, PMC, buttons, handbags, gifts, packaging and hand-made cards!

Special Services
As well as the comprehensive workshop program open to people of all skill levels, Shiney Company runs a children’s workshop program during the school holidays and caters for children’s parties. Hen parties are popular and many organisations use Shiney Company for corporate events. Classes can be booked online or over the telephone making it easy to secure your place. The team at Shiney Company continually update their skills though training and personal development. They embrace new products and tools and introduce these into their workshops, continually sharing knowledge with their customers.
