Instruction from the Inspiration Book Africa & Scandinavia: Fire & ice. Creativity at the crossroads

Step 1: Cut a piece of paper to the dimensions shown in the illustration in step 1.

Step 2: Roll paper over a wooden stick. Glue the ends of paper like you see in illustration. Remove the wooden stick & repeat steps one and two 27 more times. Paper rolls should have different lengths.

Step 3: Lay the rolls all together and fix them with 4 pins on cardboard.

Step 4: Draw a line on the top and bottom of rolls with a pencil. See the illustration in step 4 for where to draw lines on rolls.

Step 5: Cut two 80 cm pieces of silver wire. Weave one piece of wire in and out of the rolls at one end at the point where the pencil line was drawn in step 4. At the end reverse the wire going back the same way and pull tight. Repeat on other end with second wire.
