Step 1: To start off you need 8 differently colored balls of wool. Cut 5 m of wool from each ball and intertwine them as shown in the illustration. Cut this into a 75 cm in length and 12 cm in diameter rectangle as shown.

Step 2: Turn the thread ends over into the collar so that they remain hidden. Repeat the same for all the left over thread ends.

Step 3: Turn over both ends of the collar inwards as shown in the illustration.

Step 4: Cut 70 cm of brown wool and fix the turned over ends with a double knot as shown and repeat same for the other end. Cut off the excess thread ends. Ideally the collar should now have a length of 70 cm.

Step 5: Cut 100 cm from the brown wool ball and sew the collar with diagonal stitches as shown in the illustration in order to make it more robust. Cut off the remaining thread at the other end.
