What technique(s) are you particularly focusing on?
Sculpting with CeralunTM, chainmaille, wire, mixed media.

Since when have you already been holding workshops?
I have been teaching formally since 2008.

What fascinates you about using Swarovski crystals?
The abundance of exciting new shapes and colors that are always being introduced along with the classic favorites that will always maintain a place in good design. There is literally something for EVERYONE’s creative appetite. The exceptional and consistent quality of Swarovski crystal and of course, that SPARKLE!

What is your favorite Swarovski crystal color?
I love, love, love the new Gemstone Pearl colors! Yummy!

What is your favorite Swarovski crystal and why?
It’s impossible to choose just one. I enjoy designing with large Pendants such as art. 6106 (50mm) and I frequently include Crystal Pearls art. 5810 and faceted round Beads art. 5000 in my work because of their versatility.

What was your first experience designing with Swarovski crystals?
I trained as a fashion designer and illustrator once upon a lifetime ago. During my final year at art college I designed an incredibly bright hot pink evening gown for a national competition. It was embellished with what seemed like yards of Swarovski Cupchains. I received an honorable mention.

What is your favorite design you have ever created with Swarovski crystals?
Favorites are always changing as my work evolves. My current one is called ‘Crystal Cascade Necklace’ and it appears in the Fall 2013 issue of Wirework magazine. It features three Swarovski Cabochette Pendants art. 6026 27mm in Crystal Satin.

Jewelry design, photography, travel, genealogy, music

How would you describe yourself in three words?
Creative, Curious, Authentic

What would you definitely take with you on a lonely island?
Tea to drink, camera to record, computer to keep in touch, jewelry tools to create.

What is the first thing at the day you usually do?
Savor my first cup of tea while I check my emails.

What is your motto of life?
This is not a dress rehearsal – Live, Love, Create!

What advice do you have for new Swarovski crystal enthusiasts?
Don’t be intimidated when starting to explore your craft using the best of materials…even the simplest finished project results will be spectacular when you use Swarovski crystals…practice, practice, practice and your confidence will grow.
